Introduction to GREEN CONSTRUCTION – Opening Doors – Free Courses for Jobseekers


Let’s take the green journey to net zero together.

Brighton Metropolitan College invites you to join a short Introduction to Green Construction Course at Decarbonisation Academy, MET’;s state-of-the-art construction training centre at our East Campus.

What will you learn?

This is a practical introduction to the construction industry with a focus on sustainability (net zero, circular economy, energy renewal and storage) to enable you to progress with further training and employment.

The course is now postponed by a week

New start date: 19th June 2024

Duration: 2 weeks

Time: 9:15am – 3:30pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Location: East Campus, Wilson Avenue Brighton, East Sussex, BN2 5PB

There is a free Lemon bus from Central Brighton (near St Peter’s Church) at 8.30am Monday -; Friday

You may be able to continue with the CSCS card course at Functional Skills UK starting on the 1st July.


If the following criteria apply, you qualify for one of our FREE Opening Doors programmes
  • 19+
  • Unemployed and claiming a means-tested benefit*
  • Employed and earning less than £22,308 per annum*
  • If English is not your first language, your language will be at Entry Level 3 or above
  • If you are not UK citizen, you will need to provide a confirmation of EU settlement status or a valid visa

You will be asked to present your ID and submit the evidence of the above.

Due to the high demand for this popular green technologies course, we enrol on a first come first serve basis.
