Introduction to GREEN CONSTRUCTION – Opening Doors – Free Courses for Jobseekers

Brighton Metropolitan College invites you to join a short Introduction to Green Construction Course at Decarbonisation Academy, MET’;s state-of-the-art construction training centre at our East Campus.

What will you learn?

This is a practical introduction to the construction industry with a focus on sustainability (net zero, circular economy, energy renewal and storage) to enable you to progress with further training and employment.

Start dates: 12th June 2024

Duration: 3 weeks

Time: 9:15am – 3:30pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Location: East Campus, Wilson Avenue Brighton, East Sussex, BN2 5PB

There is a free Lemon bus from Central Brighton (near St Peter’s Church) at 8.30am Monday -; Friday

If the following criteria apply, you qualify for one of our FREE Opening Doors programmes
  • 19+
  • Unemployed and claiming a means-tested benefit*
  • Employed and earning less than £22,308 per annum*
  • If English is not your first language, your language will be at Entry Level 3 or above
  • If you are not UK citizen, you will need to provide a confirmation of EU settlement status or a valid visa

You will be asked to present your ID and submit the evidence of the above.

How to apply

Once you have created an account, you can easily apply to your chosen course and track the status of your application at any time.


Step 1

Set Up Your Account

You’ll be prompted to create an account which will allow you to log in to our Application Tracker website whenever you wish. This will provide you with important information and you can also track the progress of your application.

Step 2


Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.

Step 3

Application Review Meeting

Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.

Step 4

Accept Your Place

Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.

Step 5

What next?

Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
