COURSE OVERVIEW
If you enjoyed our beginners jewellery course, or have some prior experience from elsewhere then this course is for you.
It will further develop your design and production skills while helping you discover and nurture your own style. Your first project will be to design a piece of jewellery using a cabochon stone. If stone setting is new for you, a simple pendant is an ideal place to start and you will be shown how to make a bail.
Progressing onwards, you may wish to make a ring with the ring size filed into the setting. You will have the opportunity to explore new techniques and create more complicated pieces, such as pendants, earrings and bracelets. Beyond the initial sessions, topics covered will be guided by your designs and some will have projects that present different technical challenges; as such there is an emphasis on peer learning.
Learners will need to buy stones and materials. Materials for a pendant with a bail are supplied by the college.
This course takes place on Saturdays, 10:00-16:30 and takes place on the following dates: 25/01, 08/02, 01/03,15/03 & 29/03
