COURSE OVERVIEW

Do you enjoy coding? If so, this Digital T-Level course is for you!
On this course, you will learn to create software applications. You will gain the core knowledge that underpins software development.
This includes;
  • analysing a problem to define requirements and acceptance criteria aligned to user needs
  • designing, implementing, and testing software
  • changing, maintaining and supporting software
  • The course aims to equip you to work in the area of programming and software development. The course will teach you modern software development practice supported by at least 305 hours of relevant industrial placement.
As well as covering software design and development with Python, the first year teaches you the computing and business background every developer needs in the real world. The topics cover hardware and networking, emerging technologies, security, legal and ethical issues. Assessment is by employer set project and two written exams.
In the second year you study a range of programming languages such as C#, Java, Go, SQL, and PHP. The industry has rigorous requirements for software requirements specification, design, project management and testing. You will learn and apply these techniques. Assessment is by employer set project.

You will require 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 to include English and Maths.

HOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORKS

Step 1

Set Up Your Account

You’ll be prompted to create an account which will allow you to log in to our Application Tracker website whenever you wish. This will provide you with important information and you can also track the progress of your application.

Step 2

Apply

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.

Step 3

Application Review Meeting

Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.

Step 4

Accept Your Place

Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.

Step 5

What next?

Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
