This apprenticeship is designed for individuals employed within the construction industry, who meet the prerequisites, wanting to specialise in low carbon technologies. It is ideal for learners interested in sustainable energy solutions and developing the skills needed for a decarbonised future of electrical supply, heating and hot water systems. It will give you the all underlying skills to thrive in this cutting edge industry.
- Develop skills and behaviours required by modern employers.
- Apply industry standards, legislation and environmental practices.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs safely and effectively.
- Commission and service heat pumps and associated equipment.
- Install and maintain low carbon heating systems and technologies.
Successful completion can lead to careers installing, commissioning and maintaining heat pumps and other low carbon heating systems. Apprentices may progress into senior technical roles, specialist renewable energy positions, manufacturer training programmes or further professional development within the plumbing, heating and renewable energy sectors.
Apprentices will need suitable PPE and workwear as required by their employer, including safety footwear. An A4 ring-bound notepad, pens and pencils are recommended for study and note-taking. Tutors may also recommend access to industry publications and technical guidance documents to support learning.
