Frequently asked questions
No – adult learners of all ages study with us every year. Whether you want to gain qualifications, change career, improve your confidence or simply try something new, there is support available to help you get started.
This will depend on the course you choose. Some short courses may only require a few hours a week, while professional qualifications or Access to HE courses may involve more study time. Many of our adult courses are designed to fit around work, family and other commitments.
Course costs vary depending on the subject and level of study. Some courses are free or subsidised, and many adults may be eligible for funding support. Any fees, equipment costs or additional expenses will be clearly shown on the course page.
Many adults may be eligible for free or reduced course fees depending on their age, income, employment status or the course they choose. Advanced Learner Loans are available for some Level 3 and above courses, with repayments only starting once you earn over £25,000 a year.
Once you have found the course you are interested in, simply visit the course page and apply online. If the course is eligible for funding or an Advanced Learner Loan, you will be given information about the next steps during the application process.
