Ascentis Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Employment in the Construction Industries
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is the perfect starting point for a career in construction. You will gain a broad understanding of the basics of construction and a range of practical skills and knowledge. The course covers an introduction to general construction, health and safety plus an overview of carpentry, brickwork, plastering, decorating and tiling.

FURTHER INFORMATION
To join this Level 1 Certificate course, you must have at least 3 GCSEs grade 2 or above.
A six week satisfactory review is in place for all students and an ability to read, write and perform basic measuring/mathematics is essential.
This course is the perfect starting point for a career in the construction industry. On successful completion, you can progress to a Level 1 Diploma in: plumbing, electrical or carpentry and joinery. or move on to Multi-trades L2

You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, and academic coursework. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios. Your final grade will be awarded as pass,or fail.
Steel toe capped boots, shoe’s, trainers are mandatory on all workshops, these must be brought by the learner. There are no other extra costs associated on the course. All materials and equipment are supplied by the college.
