GRAPHIC DESIGN AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA – Free Opening Doors Course – Programmes for Jobseekers

COURSE OVERVIEW

A fun and practical, introductory 4-week course, taught by industry professionals.

Applicants must have an interest in design, basic IT skills and be comfortable using computers.

  • Learn the principles of graphic design; how to combine typography and image; create logos and brand identity; and understand the difference between using colour in print (CMYK) and digital (RGB) designs.
  • Learn how to use Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Learn how to create and embed QR codes, hyperlinks and pop-ups in interactive PDFs.

You will create an A4 print portfolio of design work which is assessed by the tutor at the end of the course and then by the awarding body (NCFE)

On successful completion of the course, you will receive 2 accredited and nationally recognised qualifications:

  • Level 1 Award in Graphic Design
  • Level 1 Certificate in Interactive Media

Week 1 and Week 2: Monday – Thursday 9:30am – 3:30pm

Week 3: Tuesday – Friday 9:30am – 3:30pm (due to Bank Holiday)

Week 4: Monday – Thursday 9.30am – 3.30pm

If the following criteria apply, you qualify for one of our FREE Opening Doors programmes
  • 19+
  • Unemployed and claiming a means tested benefit* or
  • Earning less than £25,000 per annum**
  • If English is not your first language, your language will be at Entry Level 3 or above
  • If you are not UK citizen, you will need to provide a confirmation of EU settlement status or a valid visa***
