Why choose this course?
Revit is Autodesk’s Building Information Modelling (BIM) software used to design, document, and manage buildings and infrastructure as intelligent 3D models. It allows architects, engineers, and contractors to create a single parametric model that automatically updates floor plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and quantities whenever the design changes.
In short it is a new CAD system that allows you to draw and design in 3D and also creates all the planning drawings you need for Floor plans, elevations and walkthroughs to demonstrate to planning the design of buildings.
Further information
- Beginners — You don’t necessarily need previous Revit experience. A good beginner course starts from the basics.
- Architectural students & graduates — Useful for developing practical modelling and technical drawing skills.
- Architects & architectural technicians — Helps create detailed 3D models and construction documentation.
- Civil & structural engineers — Particularly useful for structural modelling and coordination.
- MEP engineers/designers — For modelling mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Quantity surveyors & estimators — Revit can provide model-based quantities and project information.
- Construction professionals — Useful for understanding and coordinating BIM models on projects.
- CAD technicians/draughtspeople — A natural progression from traditional 2D CAD into BIM.
- People changing careers — It can be a good entry point into BIM, Revit technician, or digital construction roles.
- What BIM is and how it is used in construction
- BIM workflows and project information
- Understanding different disciplines: architecture, structure, and MEP
- Navigating the Revit interface
- Starting projects and setting up templates
- Levels, grids, views, and project organisation

If you decide to use this system, the college tutor will show you how to access the full product online.
This is a short two day course to introduce the Revit system to you. You get to use the system for free for 1 month and decide if it will benefit your company in the design process. There will be a local achievement certificate issued on completion.
None unless you decide to access the full product after the course
