NCFE LEVEL 2 AWARD IN HELPING SKILLS (Daytime)

COURSE OVERVIEW

On this course you will learn about listening for personal and professional development. You will be introduced to counselling theory and the importance of self awareness in helping, support and counselling roles. Learning about working ethically, building trust in relationships, valuing yourself and maintaining boundaries. Exploration of equality, diversity and inclusion in professional settings, that can also be applied to personal relationships.

The course is portfolio based, so there are no exams, just assignments where you gain all the learning you need in the classroom, through the course handbook and online resources. The learning in the classroom is practical, you will be learning through exploring topics each week, discussion with fellow students and through practical activities.

These skills are relevant for a wide range of jobs, whether for improvement or progression in your current role or a career change and a new role.

The course runs on a Wednesday 13:00 to 16:30. There will also be a required Saturday workshop session, date to be confirmed.

FURTHER INFORMATION

You don’;t need to have a level 1 counselling course qualification to study on the level 2 course but you will need to have a good level of English skills as the course is about listening and communication, and has written assignments.
