Brighton MET Students and Staff Excel at TeenTech Sussex Festival
Students and staff from Brighton MET College attended the annual TeenTech Sussex Festival, which took place at the Amex Stadium in Falmer recently.
The national festival takes place at different venues up and down the country, and is designed to bring secondary school pupils together for an interactive programme of activities. This all helps them understand the range of opportunities across digital, science, and technology.
The event was attended by computing, games, creative media, and broadcast students, and was sponsored by the Sussex and Surrey Institute of Technology.
On the day staff and students ran a Brighton MET booth, which offered attendees the chance to experience VR, alongside other interactive experiences and challenges.
A small number of MET students were also given the opportunity to work in the industry hub space working side by side with prospective future employers.
The event featured virtual live sessions, which included leading employers showcasing exciting aspects of their work, as well as in-person activities, where students could take part in exciting challenges and hands-on activities and network with employers.
Martha Killick, Vice Principal of Brighton MET College, said: “Our students had a fantastic opportunity to work as Ambassadors at the TeenTech Festival at the Amex Stadium, a hugely successful event attended by schools and colleges from across the region, which had 330 total pupils signed up to attend.
“A massive thank you to TeenTech for having us along on the day to such a fabulous event.”
