This introductory SEND catering pathway builds confidence, teamwork and practical hospitality skills through hands-on kitchen tasks, work experience and employability learning integrated with literacy, numeracy and IT, preparing learners for progression into further catering or foundation programmes.

Designed for SEND learners interested in hospitality or catering careers who benefit from practical, supported vocational learning environments.
- Build confidence through practical cooking tasks and supervised catering activities.
- Develop employability skills such as teamwork, time management and communication.
- Learn core catering skills including food preparation, hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Strengthen basic Maths, English and IT skills alongside vocational learning.
Progression to Year 2 of the programme or further catering-related study at foundation or Level 1 depending on readiness.
Assessed through practical kitchen assessments and coursework demonstrating vocational and employability progress.
