COURSE OVERVIEW
The growing plumbing industry offers financially rewarding careers. This course will give you the practical skills, confidence and underpinning theoretical knowledge to kick-start your career in the plumbing industry or prepare you for an apprenticeship.
As well as practical skills you will also learn how to promote yourself as a plumber and win jobs and contracts in domestic, industrial and commercial plumbing.
In addition, you will learn about the structure of the construction industry, health and safety and site preparation.
The course includes work experience, enrichment activities and project work to prepare you for a successful career as a professional plumber.
FURTHER INFORMATION
In order to start this course at Level 2, you must have completed a Level 1 Plumbing Foundation or Diploma and have two GCSEs grade 9-2 (A*-F) or equivalent.
After Level 2, you can progress to a Level 3 qualification as an apprentice or seek employment. A Level 3 qualification is required to become fully qualified.

- Heating engineer
- Hot and cold water systems designer
- Air-conditioning and refrigeration
- Site manager
You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, academic coursework and industry placements. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios including work experience. Your final grade will be awarded as pass, merit or distinction.
