COURSE OVERVIEW
This is a T Level designed for progression in the construction industry as a designer, surveyor or planner. It is a two-year course with a industry placement for a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days).
Across both years you will study core content. These modules include:
- Health and Safety
- Science, measurement and building technology
- Information, data and digital technology
- Construction mathematical techniques
- Design and sustainability
- Construction and the built environment
- Relationship management, commercial business, project management and law.
Roughly 75% of your learning will be theory-based and this will develop your skills in research, problem-solving, solution development, communication, and collaboration. Your English, maths and digital skills will be important too, especially in this digital age. In one week you could produce sketches and drawings on industry-standard software, the next you could work in a group to produce a tender; then you might complete research for a mock court case, and then collect dimensional information from a site visit.
FURTHER INFORMATION
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths and a satisfactory six week review.
Completing the T Level will allow a route into industry where you can further develop your skills and knowledge.

T Levels are awarded based on theory and practical assessment. Each course is delivered as 80% theory and 20% practical via an industry placement.
You will be awarded an overall grade of pass, merit or distinction at the end of your 2-year course. You must achieve a grade A*- E in the core component and a separate grade of pass, merit or distinction for each occupational specialism to gain the overall grade and final qualification.
