COURSE OVERVIEW
Our game design program offers an ideal beginning for anyone looking to pursue a career in the games industry or to advance their studies further in game design, animation, games art and/or immersive technologies.
You will be introduced to industry standard software such as Unity, Photoshop, Blender as well as the fundamentals of drawing, animation, 3D, games design, tabletop and more. This course equips you with practical skills, techniques, and knowledge crucial for navigating this rapidly expanding industry.
In a nurturing and imaginative setting, you’;ll delve into various disciplines of game design and visual development and how to bring your ideas to life. You will also have chances to collaborate with experts from the industry on real projects such as the Global Game Jam. This contact time with mentors from the games industry is an integral part of the program, helping you gain firsthand experience with those that make games professionally.

At least three GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English, maths and preferably a creative subject, plus a portfolio of your creative work and evidence of your interest in the subject.

You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, academic coursework and industry placements. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios including work experience. Your final grade will be awarded as pass, merit or distinction.
