Art and Design | Intermediate Art & Design

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is both practical and enjoyable. A highly qualified and experienced tutor will develop your skills and knowledge of the formal elements of art and design, through a project theme.

You will further explore experimental techniques, processes and different media with the aim of building on your portfolio of work from the introductory course or from existing work.

You will be encouraged to express yourself and find your own unique visual language through colour in drawing, mixed media, contemporary portraiture, installation art, and ceramics. We will look at contemporary artists for inspiration and analyse their work, both in two and three-dimensional approaches. There will be both group and individual tutorials to support your learning and you will be required to produce a body of developmental art and design work, including sketchbook work in response to the theme.

The work produced may be used for the development of your own creative practice or to assist with applications for future progression onto art and design courses.

This course runs from 10am – 2.30pm once a week.
