Classroom to catwalk: Brighton MET College Students Shine at Fabulous Fashion Show
It was a night of pride, celebration, and creativity as Brighton MET College students staged a showstopping fashion show in the heart of the city, as crowds gathered at a packed St Peter’s Church.

Described as ‘a jewel in the crown of our academic year’ by Georgina Hooper, Head of Learning, Creative Industries, it brought together the incredible work of Fashion and Visual Merchandising & Styling students as they showcased their Final Major Projects on the catwalk.
The college was proud to celebrate and witness the outstanding craftsmanship of its Fashion & Textiles Foundation students, Fashion Design & Business Extended Diploma students, and Visual Merchandising & Styling learners. Each collection told a powerful story, reflecting not only technical skill but individuality and voice.
Georgina Hooper said a particularly moving highlight was the interpretation of the theme ‘Sanctuary,’ supporting Brighton MET College’s recognition as a College of Sanctuary.
She said: “This was explored with real depth – through care, consideration, sophistication and raw emotion – creating a truly memorable and meaningful experience.
“We also celebrated the Adelaide Collection: a stunning series of 17 dresses brought to life through a living gallery performance at the Royal Pavilion. This was a brilliant collaboration between our Fashion & Textiles Foundation students and Adelaide Salon, demonstrating the strength of industry partnership and live project work.
“Above all, it was a night of pride and celebration – recognising not only the remarkable journeys of our students, but the exceptional dedication of our teaching team.

“A huge thank you to our incredible Fashion and Visual Merchandising staff: Lucy Bainton, Natasha Holdgate, Phil Bint and Anna Blencowe, alongside our recent PGCE Graduate Laura O’Sullivan. Their expertise, care and commitment make opportunities like this possible for every student.
“Thanks to our amazing media team Nea Springer and Chris Tulley for their media support on the night and their students, and thanks to our Level 3 Photography students for taking photos not only on the night but throughout the day to capture the energy!
“And thanks to our fantastic judges for the evening: Nicola Cosens, Gussie O’Connor, Adelaide Salon, Maren Hager and Luca Gatti – their support and engagement meant so much to our students.”
