COURSE OVERVIEW
Based within the exciting and vibrant creative industries department alongside our creative industries degrees, this course is ideally placed to allow you to explore a variety of specialist areas, including fine art, graphics, illustration, photography, 3D, fashion, textiles. Industry-based projects and work experience opportunities are part of each course curriculum, enabling you to further develop the skills to progress to degree level study or a career in the creative industries.

Before the UK lockdown, the Creative Industries were worth £112 billion to our economy, and continue to play a huge part socially and culturally. The government is now investing £1.57billion in supporting the Creative Industries post-Covid.
FURTHER INFORMATION
To join this course you need at least one A-Level at grade C or higher (or equivalent Level 3 qualification) in a creative subject. Plus five GCSEs grades 9-;4 (A-;C) to include English and maths, and a portfolio of your creative work.
Entry to the course includes a 1-1 in person interview. This will be with one of the Tutors, Curriculum Manager or Head of Creative Industries.
During the interview you will be able to discuss and present your portfolio of work and ask questions. This will be an opportunity for us to talk to you about your work and interests.
This course is the preferred progression route to higher education art and design specialised study and the majority of students use this course as a stepping stone into higher education.

You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, academic coursework and industry placements. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios including work experience. Your final grade will be awarded as pass, merit or distinction.
