Art & Design | UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art & Design | Part-Time

COURSE OVERVIEW

The part-time Foundation course is an intensive 1-year Art & Design diploma taught over two days per week. The course is designed to develop and extend your creativity through a series of thought-provoking and stimulating projects and workshops. The course will enable you to build a professional portfolio suitable for employment or university-level study. Successful completion will facilitate progression into any higher education creative direction or degree pathway and is most suitable for 19+ students and mature learners.
At the start of the course, you will benefit from an intensive skills-building program that will introduce you to a wide range of processes and techniques. You will have the opportunity to work between 2D and 3D media to help you understand how to develop creative concepts and ideas. Seminars and presentations will help you to articulate your ideas further.
The course is designed to provide you with intellectual challenges and will encourage you to consider how you wish to work as an artist or designer. You will learn how to evaluate your work and ideas and how to reflect on your practice. This will include the exploration of various approaches to working creatively, including the investigation of the work of others, critical reviews, gallery visits, and other research activities.
It is expected that you will study independently for one or two days per week to develop your practice. You will also be required to undertake extracurricular work such as research and attending university open days. This course has an excellent track record of placing students at prestigious universities and art colleges across the UK. On successful completion, you will receive a UAL Level 3 Diploma.
