Introduction to Coding: C#
COURSE OVERVIEW
Coding C# (Stage 2)
For those already with some programming experience; for example basic Python or Scatch.
C# is a challenging industry standard language. Familiarity C# will help you master languages such as C++ and JavaScript, and move into exiting areas such as VR and game coding with Unity.
What Will You Learn?
Throughout the course, you’ll develop hands-on coding skills and gain an understanding of key programming concepts, including:
Learning to use Microsoft Visual Studio
Getting input from the using and giving output to the user
Understanding and using different data types (strings, integers, floats, and booleans)
Making decisions with if and else
Making decisions with switch
Making the program do the same thing again and again (while and for loops)
Testing your program for faults.
Combining all skills into a final coding project
You’ll also gain insights into how C# is used in the industry, preparing you for further study in coding or a career in technology.

Your course tutor will be able to discuss further courses available at the MET
Assessment in this course is practical and skills-based, focusing on your ability to write and understand C# code. You will be assessed through:
Weekly coding exercises and worksheets
Hands-on programming tasks and worked examples
A final coding project, applying everything you’ve learned
Participation in discussions and reflections on coding concepts
By the end of the course, you’;ll have built a solid foundation in C# programming and be ready to progress to more advanced coding which apply C# to games, VR and information systems
