COURSE OVERVIEW
The BPEC Level 1 Diploma in Plumbing Foundation is the ideal starting point, providing you with a solid foundation in both theory and practical skills.
Whether you’;re an adult exploring a new career or someone eager to develop practical skills in a growing industry, this qualification offers you the tools to succeed. Through 9 mandatory units, you’;ll cover essential topics such as safe working practices, environmental protection, copper and plastic pipe fabrication, and key techniques for installing plumbing systems.
This course will not only equip you with the technical knowledge you need but will also prepare you for a successful career in the Building Services sector.
You will study in our exceptional plumbing workshop, which forms part of our purpose built construction centre at East Brighton campus.
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is open to anyone wishing to develop their plumbing skills.
Due to the number of exams in the programme, a certain level of English is required and this will be discussed at interview.
This qualification will not qualify you to work directly as a Plumber or Plumbing & Heating Engineer, but it provides a great platform to move into trainee employment, an apprenticeship, or further study. Learners who complete this qualification may go on to complete:

BPEC – Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating

BPEC – Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Heating, which may form part of an apprenticeship

BPEC – Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Foundation
There are 10 exams throughout the course.
The exams test both your theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of plumbing and heating, requiring you to communicate clearly and accurately. Whether it’;s understanding key concepts, answering questions, or completing written tasks, a solid grasp of English will support you in excelling in the course.
