Through the Lens of Change: Brighton MET Students Feature in Photo Fringe 2026
Photography students from Brighton MET have recently finished creating artwork for a new exhibition as part of Photo Fringe 2026.
Titled ‘Feedback Loop: Artivism’, the exhibition explores how photography can be used as a catalyst for conversation, participation and social change.
The work brings students together to use photography to shine a light on environmental, social and cultural issues, collaborate, and spark conversation on these topics.
Each piece of student work was shaped through consistent collaboration with their peers, as well as feedback from their tutors, leading to a real variety of work being put on display.
The exhibition forms part of Photo Fringe 2026, a biennial photography festival which runs every other October and features more than 100 exhibitions both in person and online, stretching across the south coast from Newhaven to Portsmouth.
This year’s theme for the festival is ‘Feedback Loop’, exploring how ideas, images and relationships evolve through exchange and change, a concept that is powerfully reflected in the students’ thought-provoking work.
Georgina Hooper, Head of Learning for Creative Industries, Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy at Brighton MET College, said:
“This exhibition is a fantastic showcase of the creativity, passion and thoughtfulness of our Photography students.
“Through collaboration, experimentation and discussion, they have produced a diverse collection of work that explores important environmental, social and cultural themes.
“We are incredibly proud to see their work featured as part of Photo Fringe 2026 and to watch them use photography as a powerful tool for dialogue and positive change.”
The exhibition is on display until Friday 30 October in the college’s Pelham Foyer. To find out more about the exhibition, please click here.
