Photography | UAL Diploma in Art & Design (Photography) | Level 3

COURSE OVERVIEW

Our exciting photography course will help you develop your creative and technical skills including the use of specialist equipment, studio lighting, lenses, camera controls and set-ups. You will be able to extend your skills in digital and traditional photography including darkroom practices and techniques, and the use of software such as Photoshop and Lightroom to help you create a professional portfolio.

We regularly have projects and live briefs linked to practising photographers and photographic businesses in Brighton, enabling you to make those vital industry contacts and to develop your work-ready skills to progress into a creative career.

FURTHER INFORMATION

At least four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, maths and preferably a creative subject, and a portfolio of your creative work. Also, you will have to pass a six week review. If you do not have the above grades, you can start on the Level 2 Creative Media course, or the Level 2 Art and Design.

An interview with a course tutor will be required prior to enrolment. You should familiarise yourself with the following texts before the course begins:

  • Michael Langford, Basic Photography (Focal Press, 2000)
